Rooms Kokhta stands in the very heart of the Kokhta-Mitarbi resort in Bakuriani. It is a contemporary hotel you can ski right up to and away from in winter, and the rest of the year it is a gateway to the mountains. The building was designed by Adjara Arch Group and the Tbilisi studio Rooms Studio, the designers Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia, and it is the group's first hotel built from scratch rather than converted from an old building.

The idea came from the mountains around Bakuriani themselves, their vastness and wildness. So inside there are many old natural materials that have been tied to Georgian heritage for centuries: wood, stone and clay, used in their simplest, almost primitive form. The furniture was custom-made by local craftsmen or comes from Rooms' own line, and in the 95 rooms vintage pieces sit beside new ones in a soothing palette.

Every room looks out on the Lesser Caucasus, and the balconies have wicker chairs and warm blankets. The Open Fire restaurant builds its menu on local produce with a hint of the region's traditional cooking, and, as in all Rooms hotels, its restaurant and bar are meant as a meeting place where guests sit beside visitors from the area.
