A design hotel with a café, a museum and a library

Stamba opened in 2018 in a former Soviet publishing house on Kostava Street, in the same complex as Rooms Tbilisi. The publishing house of the 1950s has become home to a whole set of venues: a hotel, a café, a chocolate workshop, a co-working space and a museum. The Brutalist building has kept its industrial scale, while the communal areas are full of greenery, warm wood and red and pink accents.
The rooms refer to vintage aviation and the international glamour of bygone eras, with industrial and Brutalist notes. Each has curated books and records, a Macintosh hi-fi, a red rotary phone and a minibar for mixing your own cocktails. One of the rooms has a work by the artist Gela Tsuladze.
Downstairs are Café Stamba, with its open kitchen and famous Pink Bar serving Georgian, European and Asian dishes, and a chocolaterie with a coffee roastery. The building also houses the D Block co-working space with a library of more than twenty thousand books, the Tbilisi Photography and Multimedia Museum, an amphitheatre and the Space Farms urban farm.
