A diner at Rooms Hotel by the Batumi sea

Rubber Duck is on the ground floor of Rooms Hotel, a few minutes from the sea. The space is arranged as a classic American diner: red leather booths along the windows, pink stools at the long counter, a tiled floor and a warm light that turns almost golden towards evening.
The kitchen brings Georgian dishes together with international classics. The people behind it call their approach golden oldies with a twist, and the format lives up to it. People walk in straight from the beach, for a milkshake or for something more serious.
Rubber Duck belongs to Adjara Group, the same company that created Fabrika in Tbilisi and Shukura in Tsikhisdziri. In the same building, on Gogebashvili Street, is the Batumi branch of the Vodkast record shop. A whole evening is therefore easy to assemble at a single address: dinner, music and a walk down to the sea.
For a resort town this is a fairly rare format. Rubber Duck does not try to look like a hotel restaurant and does not cut itself off from the street. It carries the city rhythm of Batumi on inside Rooms: people come after the beach, have dinner and listen to music, then step back out into the city.
